Office Assistant is responsible for answering the phones, managing social media, data entry, and assisting other office staff as needed. Reports directly to the Office Manager.
Position duties include;
- Monitor and answer AHRC office phones, email & office visitors
- Answer general questions about AHRC’s services
- Assist Customers with Customer Service Issues
- Manage New Customer Sign-ups [Start to Finish]
- Assist Office Managers with Billing
- Assist Sales Coordinator with mailings
- Data Entry & Reporting
- Drive-on Scale Operation
- Assist in the creation of Year End & Fiscal Year End material tracking reports for OU, COA, AHSWD, & AHRC
- Management of Route Sheets
- Education and Marketing
- Close office at the end of the day
- Other duties as requested by the Board of Directors or other administrative staff.
High school diploma / GED
Ability to navigate, enter data, and produce reports in QuickBooks Accounting Software
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet (basic formulas, filtering, etc.), and database applications
Knowledge of standard phone and email etiquette
Ability to prepare standard office letters with organizational letterhead
Ability to clearly communicate in a timely manner to all other team members.
Knowledge of social media platforms and use
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to above)
1 - 2 years experience in a similar position
Knowledge of common computer operating systems
Ability to navigate cloud based applications

The Organics Processor manages AHRC’s compost facility and compost collection routes in Athens and Hocking counties. Ideal candidates will have an interest in keeping food waste out of the landfill, where it creates potent greenhouse gasses, and turning it into a nutrient dense soil amendment for local farms and gardens.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good administrative and organizational skills
Must be self motivated and able to work alone
Must be safety conscious
Must be able to meet physical demands that include but are not limited to lifting up to 50lbs and work in inclement weather
Capable of maintaining digital records and creating reports for regulatory agencies
Valid driver's license
Ability to drive a truck with a trailer
Operate; Skid-steer loader, front-end loader, forklift, screener, shredder, and other related equipment
Degree/Certification in agricultural field of study, crop or soil science, or equivalent experience in a compost processing function, farm, or landscaping.
Ohio Compost Operator Education Course (or attain within probationary period)
Other Prefered Skills/Certifications/Experience:
Class B CDL
Previous experience with a EPA certified compost facility
Management of compost piles including moving, temperature management, moisture management, and documentation of the process
Seek continuing education about composting and suggest improvements to the processes
Complete Daily Composting Facility Log of Operations as required by the EPA and Health Department
Take and log compost temperatures on a daily basis, make adjustments to active piles based on results to create optimum composting conditions
Monitors the leachate system
Note and take steps to correct compost contamination at the source
Screen compost as needed
Maintain a clean and safe compost facility
Take and submit testing samples for analysis lab, following
Provide compost customers with technical information about the compost
Build relationships with customers to promote composting collection and sales
Load and deliver finished compost
Create yearly EPA compost report and submit
Communicate with and comply with the Athens County Health Department
Pickup compost on scheduled pickup days (City of Athens, residential and businesses)
Create & maintain efficiencies for existing routes for compost pickup
Collection of Used Cooking Oil (UCO) solids
Clean compost buckets and carts
Complete all other tasks assigned by the supervisor, including helping on the recycling sorting line, and with trash/recycling collection and processing as needed

Laborer/CDL Driver - Description
AHRC is now hiring for a Laborer/CDL Class B driver for recycling and refuse routes in Athens and
Hocking Counties. This position includes working on refuse and recycling trucks, and working at processing center. AHRC operates collection routes in both counties via packer trucks and
roll-off trucks as well as operating a materials sorting facility with a throughput of over
4,000 tons per year. AHRC also has a food/organics waste collection service and operates
a Class II compost facility.
